All set for 2nd round

BLACK Leopards will clash with Jomo Cosmos in the second round of their National First Division play-offs at Vaal Tech Stadium this afternoon (Wednesday).

LIMPOPO – BLACK Leopards will clash with Jomo Cosmos in the second round of their National First Division play-offs at Vaal Tech Stadium this afternoon (Wednesday).

The mood is still high in the Cosmos camp after they walloped Moroka Swallows 4-1 at the same stadium on Sunday.

Cosmos head coach, Jomo Sono, said they were going to punish Lidoda Duvha the same way they punished Swallows.

“In the first round, Leopards defeated us 2-0 due to an early goal and their huge crowd support.

“Today they are coming to a lion’s den, we will cut their claws. I told you not to rule us out of this race, look what we did to Swallows. Make no mistake, we are a good team,” said Sono.

Spokesperson for Black Leopards, Barry Ramunenyiwa, said they had a solid team, and that the striker, Roggert Nyundu, who was on suspension, was back to terrorise Cosmos.

“We don’t have any injuries and our defender, Thivhavhudzi Ndou, who was injured on the face by Brice Arka during the first round of the play-offs is fine. We have organised buses to transport people to the Vaal Tech Stadium,” said Ramunenyiwa.

He said tickets were available at Computicket and cost R100.

“On the ticket there is a phone number that you can call for the bus to come and fetch you,” said Ramunenyiwa.

Leopards coach, Zeca Marques, said the team’s recent 2-0 loss to Swallows was due to Swallows’ experience on the pitch.

“We have learnt something and we will rectify out mistakes during training. We must punish Cosmos in front of their spectators,” said Marques.
