THE Waterberg district KFC mini-cricket committee was awarded at the Limpopo Impala Cricket Awards ceremony in Polokwane last Friday for the second consecutive year as the committee of the year in Limpopo.

MOKOPANE – THE Waterberg district KFC mini-cricket committee was awarded at the Limpopo Impala Cricket Awards ceremony in Polokwane last Friday for the second consecutive year as the committee of the year in Limpopo.

It was a prestigious event that was held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium and guests were entertained by guest speakers such as Ethy Mbalati, who played for the South African national cricket team, the Proteas. He was also part of the u/19 world cup winning team in 2014. His love for the game started when he was part of a mini-cricket team in Phalaborwa, many years ago.

The Waterberg district com-mittee, under the leadership of Alpheus Molokomme, thanked all of the schools participating in the programme for their outstanding support.

The committee also urged all primary schools within the district to register to take part in the programme, and in so doing stay off the streets and avoid getting into mischief.

All children between the ages of five- and 12 years are welcome to join this exciting programme.
