Athletes go to SA’s

Six athletes from Prism Jewaskiewitz Polokwane Athletics Club recently qualified to compete in the South African Schools Athletics (SASA) track and field championships.

POLOKWANE – Six athletes from Prism Jewaskiewitz Polokwane Athletics Club recently qualified to compete in the South African Schools Athletics (SASA) track and field championships.

Miguel de Sousa will compete in the 100 m for boys u/17, while Remoneiloe Phasha will run the 100 m and 200 m for girls u/15.

Both athletes will compete in the SASA high school track and field championships at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg from March 25 to 28.

Michelle Claassens will compete in the 150 m hurdles for girls u/12 as well as the 75 m for girls u/12.

Zoƫ Dunster-van den Heever qualified for the 80 m and 100 m for girls u/10.

Deon van Huyssteen qualified for the 80 m, 100 m and long jump events for boys u/10 while Kgola Khunou qualified for the 100 m and 200 m for boys u/13.

All four of these athletes will compete in the SASA primary schools track and field championships at the Germiston Stadium in Germiston from March 19 to 21.

The six athletes train under Deon Jewaskiewitz, who is very proud of their achievements.

He said they were training hard for these upcoming championships.
