Mnqibisa off to greener fields

POLOKWANE City FC centre back, Vukile Mnqibisa, says he wants to leave the club as soon as the end of this month.

POLOKWANE City FC centre back, Vukile Mnqibisa, says he wants to leave the club as soon as the end of this month.

Mnqibisa’s contract with City FC expires in June this year but the lanky 27-year-old defender wants to leave Limpopo as soon as possible, because coach Kostadin Papic told him he was not in his plans for the remainder of the current season.

Mnqibisa’s manager, Mandla Mthembu from NG Sports, revealed his client’s desire to leave the club during the current transfer window because, if that does not happen, Mnqibisa faces six months of unemployment.

“We informed Polokwane City of Mnqibisa’s decision not to extend his stay at the club beyond the current season. Whether he moves to a new club during this transfer window, entirely depends on Polokwane City as he is still contracted to them.

“As his manager I hope the club releases him, as the coach told him that he was instructed not to use him (Mnqibisa) because he could not sign a contract extension,” Mthembu said.

Mnqibisa, who was a stalwart when Polokwane City FC gained promotion to the Premier Soccer League two years ago, is on the most wanted lists of both Moroka Swallows and Free State Stars.
