LIMPOPO football fans will have the rare opportunity to watch two world class matches for the price of one on December 16.

LIMPOPO football fans will have the rare opportunity to watch two world class matches for the price of one on December 16.

This comes after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed that the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex would host the first double-header of the season on Day of Reconciliation.

Local club, Polokwane City FC, will play against the University of Pretoria at 15:00. That game will be followed by Kaizer Chiefs who will look to extend their lead on the top of the log table in their game against Free State Stars at 18:00.

Director of community development at the Polokwane Municipality, Ndavhe Ramakuela, confirmed that one ticket would guarantee supporters entry to watch both matches.

“We realised that it would not be proper to host matches at the Peter Mokaba Stadium and the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on the same day. We decided to host the two fixtures at the sports complex. This will benefit the people of Limpopo because, instead of spending R80 on two tickets, one ticket will give them access to watch both matches.” Tickets cost R40 each and are available at Computicket.

Polokwane City FC are seated on the summit of the Second Q-Innovation log with 10 points from three matches and are poised to claim the R1,5 million prize money that comes with winning the Q-Innovation.

City FC head coach Kostadin Papic and striker Puleng Tlolane, who is the current PSL top goal scorer with seven goals, are strong contenders for the coach and player of the month honours for the month of November respectively .

Kaizer Chiefs will make their fourth appearance of the season at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.

After they played to a thrilling goalless draw against Polokwane City FC last Tuesday, Amakhosi will host Platinum Stars on Tuesday December 9 and Chippa United on Saturday, December 13 before locking horns with Ea lla Koto in the double header on December 16.
