Lim title at stake in tournament
Ten u/23 rugby teams from the five districts in the province will compete for the provincial title at the University of Limpopo from December 2 to 4.
POLOKWANE – Ten u/23 rugby teams from the five districts in the province will compete for the provincial title at the University of Limpopo from December 2 to 4.
Each district will be represented by two teams, a women’s team and a men’s team.
Last year, the men’s category was won by Waterberg district. They were followed by Capricorn district in second place, while the Mopani district came third.
In the women’s category, Capricorn district emerged victorious, Vhembe was in second place, while the Mopani district came third. The Capricorn district community coach and league coordinator, Ignitious Semenya, says the tournament will also accommodate various sporting codes such as soccer, cricket and volleyball.
“All the teams in the tournament are committed and aim to win the title and this makes the tournament more exciting. We look forward to the big day and cannot wait to crown the champions,” says Semenya.
