GIYANI – Mopani Spar soccer team players looked unstoppable when they trounced their Giyani Spar counterparts 5-0 in a mini league match at the Giyani sports grounds on Sunday.

Rodgers “Mame Niang” Baloyi scored a brace while his teammates, Musa “Pedro” Baloyi, Pastor “Xavi” Ngoveni and Solly “Yaya” Baloyi netted a goal apiece to give Mopani a well deserved win.

Superb goalkeeping from Fidu Mathebula denied Giyani a consolation goal.

The win means Mopani maintained an unbeaten record and currently lead the log standings with 10 points accumulated from four games.

At King’s Court sports grounds, Modjadjiskloof Spar and Tzaneen Spar played to a 1-1 stalemate.

Samuel Ramatlhako and Shadrack Ramarumo scored for their respective teams.

Modjadji Spar remains rooted to the bottom of the log with only two points.

In netball, Tzaneen Spar defeated Modjadjiskloof Spar by 14 goals to four while the game between Mopani and Giyani did not take place due to failure to secure a suitable netball court for the game.
