Rakhale set to return to Pirates

City supporters' days of calling for the inclusion of skilful Thabo Rakhale in their team's matches might have come to an end.

POLOKWANE City supporters’ days of calling for the inclusion of skilful Thabo Rakhale in their team’s matches might have come to an end.

Rakhale, who was on loan to City from Orlando Pirates, will join his Bucs teammates for their pre-season training sessions later this month.

Rakhale’s manager, Mandla Mthembu, confirmed that the winger would return to Orlando Pirates for his pre-season training. He said Rakhale still had two years remaining on his contract with the Soweto giants.

Rakhale, who entertained Polokwane City supporters with his blistering pace and magical skills, was only in Polokwane on a season-long loan deal with the club.

“I can confirm that Thabo will report for pre-season training with Pirates and if any club is interested in signing this player, they must negotiate with his club,” said Mthembu.

Rakhale was touted to move to Free State Stars, Amazulu and Platinum Stars in the past, but it seems as if Pirates coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, wanted to take a good look at him since Rakhale was not there when the Serbian first arrived at the club.

Rise and Shine is linked with the Pirates duo, Jacky Motshekgwa and Aubrey Ngoma, as well as Black Leopards striker Rendani Ndou.

Several attempts to get a comment from Polokwane City’s public relations officer, Patrick Baloyi, proved fruitless.
