ROR-ing success

ROR Events would like to thank everyone who gave and volunteered and who was there to make the weekend possible.

MOKOPANE – Running or Riding Events (ROR Events) Weekend Warrior Series #1 had their very first event last weekend at La Pumba Hunting Safaris.

On Saturday it was the MTB event drawing 120 mountain bikers and their families and on Sunday it was the Trail Run drawing almost 80 runners.

ROR Events was very honored to have Rufus Photo from Polokwane, a three time Comrades gold medalist, participating in their event. He won the 15 km run hands down.

Young and old came out for the race.

The results for the Mountain Bike event – 6 km girls under 12 winners are: Jana Kotze (first), and Jean-Mari Wilson (second).

6 km boys under 12 winners are: John-Ross Donovan (first), Stephen Le Roux (second), and Liam Wilson (third).

20 km boys winners are: Arno Smit (first), Morné van der Bank (second), and Jarred Watridge (third).

20 km open women winners are: Nadia Kotze (first), Elaine Lombard (second), and Annelize Hugo (third).

20 km men winners are: John Taljaard (first), Greg Keartland (second), and Joseph Fourie (third).

The event was open to all ages.

50 km open women winners are: Theresia Lessing (first), Louisette van Helsdingen (second), and Carmen Schoeman (third).

50 km overall men winners are: Heinro Malan (first), Carel Smit (second), and Jacques Buys (third).

The 3 km Trail Run girls under 12 winners are: Jean-Mari Wilson (first), Lienke van Helsdingen (second), and Mia van Helsdingen (third).

The boys Trail Run under 12 winners are: John-Ross Donovan (first), Liam Wilson (second), and Merrick Cronje (third).

The 6 km boys winner is: Morné van der Bank.

The open men winners are: Nelson Mothoa (first), Acacia de Sousa (second), and Greg Keartland (third).

The 6 km open women winners are: Louise Rene Strydom (first), Jeandre Viljoen(second), and Elizabeth Links (third).

The 15 km Trail Run winners are: Rufus Photo (first), JJ van der Merwe (second), and Tinus van Helsdingen (third).

The 15km open women winners are: Andriel de Lange (first), Carmen Schoeman (second), and Arlene Weber (third).

Absa Mokopane Bank Manager, Clifford Makamu, was there to hand over prizes and aQuellé sponsored flavoured and still water for the event.

The Bicycle Company, Oasis, the Potties Athletics Club, and Mokopane Cycling Club all had water points on the weekend.

Chops and Chives provided everyone with great food and the Grind made amazing coffee to suit every taste.
