MOKOPANE – The Waterberg District Municipality in cooperation with the Bela-Bela Marathon club and Forever Resorts Bela-Bela hosted the race for the fifth consecutive year drawing athletes from across the country.
Roseline Makgamatho took home the crown in the 10 km walk and as the Grandmaster, while Daleen van Zyl showed off her skills in the 28 km which earned her a first place spot. Estelle Geerkens boasts with a first place in her age category and a fourth place overall in the 28 km race.
The following members completed the 28 km race: Sarie Coetzee, Andrea Ferreira, Cecilia Ferreira, Lindie Holtzhausen, Geerkens, Cheraye Engelbrecht, Tasneen Omar, Khatijah Essack, Annemarie Kruger, Josephine Sekhaolelo, Hosea Seabela and Hendrik Moloto. The following members tested their mettle in the 28 km walk: Johanna Mawasha, Fozia Issufo, Priscilla Seabela and Daleen van Zyl. Roseline Makgamatho and Farhana Seedat proudly took on the 10 km walk.
