Superb superbike action in Polokwane

At the National Superbike Short Circuit Series round 2, Review asked bikers how they prepare before a race.

The short circuit track in Polokwane was roaring as the National Superbike Short Circuit Series round 2 took place just outside the city over the weekend.

Short circuit petrol heads battled it out in nine categories – Masters and Grandmaster, SuperMoto 2, Cre8work SM85 and 65, SuperMoto 1 and 1X, Cre8work SM50, Clubmans, Samra NDF100, 150 Cup and Mini Moto PeeWee/Novice/Stock.

Bikers of all ages from across South Africa gathered at the race track, competing for a podium position.

Review spoke to some of the bikers to find out how they prepare physically/mentally before a race. This is what they had to say:

Stephen van Zyl: I cut everything out and only focus on my bike and I practice a lot.
Chris Wright: I try to keep cool and listen to music that calms me down.
Leungo Gaorekwe: I sit my self down, listen to music and pray with one gloved hand next to a non-gloved hand.
Hunter Dreyer: I practice every weekend and three days before a race I will come to the track and get to know it. My family takes videos of me practicing and then I will sit and look at for mistakes.
