All systems ready to go for champs

The Vice-President of Limpopo Swimming Aquatics, Rob Anderson, says it is all systems go for the annual Limpopo Swimming Championship

The annual Limpopo Swimming Championship is scheduled for 13 to 14 February at the municipal swimming pool.

Anderson says the meet will be staged under strict Covid-19 regulations and access to the swimming pool will be limited.

“We are expecting swimmers from various clubs in the province over the two days and this is the meet that gives Limpopo’s swimmers an opportunity to improve on their qualifying times in order to participate on a national level,” he explained.

Anderson added that selection for the provincial team to represent Limpopo at the National Swimming Championship, in Durban in April, will be made at the meet. “Swimmers with the best qualifying times will be selected.

Our swimmers are itching to get into the pool and compete after a long lay-off. We are looking forward to a great event. Unfortunately, no supporters will be allowed.”
