Kevin Anderson to serve local tennis stars

Renowned South African tennis player, Kevin Anderson, will conduct a virtual tennis clinic at the Polokwane Tennis Courts on 25 February.

Forming part of Tennis South Africa’s development programme, the clinic is aimed at unearthing and unravelling talent in the province.

Local coach, Amos Magagula told Polokwane Observer that the clinic will host 64 aspiring tennis players from disadvantaged backgrounds from various districts in the province and will afford all aspiring players an opportunity to hone their basic tennis skills.

“This is a great platform to showcase the sporting code to avid tennis players. We are saying that the sporting code is not for those with money but for everybody.”

Magagula also added that wheelchair tennis star, Khothatso Montjane will assist Anderson on the day.

”Montjane will be at the courts. The aspiring tennis players will be given tennis equipment including rackets, balls and lunch. We are anticipating a great day.”
