Bright horizons for Polokwane City FC

Chief Operations Officer of Polokwane City Football Club, Tincy Tema says the club's form in the GladAfrica Championship is a sign of good things to come.

City, who were relegated from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) last season, have managed to accumulate 11 points from six matches. They find themselves sitting comfortably in the sixth position of the league with 24 matches to play.

Tema says the positive start forms part of their objectives of returning to the PSL. “Remember, we were relegated last season and we want to return to the top flight of South African football. We can only achieve that through hard work and determination.”

He also added they are happy to have retained the services of some of the players who were playing in the PSL last season.

“We did not sign any players for this season. We just roped in young players from our development structures. They have jelled well with the senior players and the team looks hungry and willing to succeed.”

Tema said they are aiming to annex three points from Pretoria Callies Football Club whom they meet at Lucas Masterpieces Stadium on Sunday. “We have never played them before and they are closed book but we are looking forward to the match.”
