The Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate Do Institute recently hosted their 16th annual Dojo Battle in the Bush Championships.
It was very different to championships held in the past as the organisation had to adhere to strict Covid-19 regulations.
Apart from this, according to the owner and chief instructor, Grandmaster Henri Eksteen, it was an overwhelming success with almost 50 of the dojo’s members participating in the action packed day filled with awesome kata and kumite displays.
The categories and divisions were from as young as four years old up to senior grades of 18 years and older. Every member received a special gold medal for their hard work and will receive their first, second and third place certificates as well as participation certificate early next year.
“The event was a great success, we will be back in action again early next year to better our skills,” Eksteen said.
