Mayor donates soccer kit

Polokwane Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng donated a soccer kit and trophies to the event organisers of Dr Kenny Manamela Soccer Tournament at Moletjie on Sunday.

Polokwane Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng donated a soccer kit and trophies to the event organisers of Dr Kenny Manamela Soccer Tournament at Moletjie on Sunday.
The soccer kit will be given to the top performing teams in the semi-finals scheduled for 19 December at Ga-Manamela Sports Ground.
The tournament was founded in 2017 and aims to produce players that will represent the country internationally.
Nkadimeng said with the gesture they want to encourage and give hope to aspiring soccer players. “The founder of the tournament, Kenny Manamela is doing great work for the community and we saw it fitting to donate the kit to the initiative.”
Phuthi Matsi, tournament organiser said they are grateful to the mayor and the municipality for the kit and it will spur the recipients on.
“We are a young tournament and we want to become one of the biggest soccer tournaments in the country. For us to achieve this, we need more sponsorships and support from the government and the corporate industry. We have created a platform for aspiring soccer players in the area to showcase their talent.”
