Zanis gymnasts perform at national level

Gymnasts of Zanis Gymnastics Academy’s Polokwane and Tzaneen branches performed well during the National Gym Games hosted in Cape Town and Durban respectively from 23 to 28 September and earned 34 podium places.
The 34 gymnasts collected 16 gold, 11 silver and seven bronze medals. To add to the achievement Zanis also produced four new South African gym champions and 12 national apparatus champions.
Level 4 gymnast Xander Deyzel scored a perfect 10 on the floor. Level 4 gymnasts Zaeem Cassim, Deandro du Preez, Matshepo Sekwaila (rhythmic champion) and Janine Taljaard also won medals.
On level 5 Kamogelo Rangoato emerged as national champion and overall winner on the P-bar. Ayden Venter, also a gym games champion achieved gold overall on the high-bar while Sebastian Austin also received gold on the pommel horse. Rhythmic gymnast Thato Moeno earned an overall silver medal.
Level 6 gymnasts who excelled are Kyle Hertz as gym champion and overall gold in pommel horse, rings and high-bar. Rhythmic gymnast Martin Botha also took a stand on the podium while level 7 artistic gymnast Sanja Pretorius emerged as the uneven bar champion.
