Their love and passion for golf has recently earned Eagle’s Nest Christian School learner Ngwako ‘Junior’ Ramoshaba and Northern Academy athlete, Mangoako Mamabolo an all-expenses paid Polokwane Golf Club membership card each.
Limpopo Golf Union operations and development manager Jean Sadie indicated that the two were selected from the Junior Golf Development Programme which was initiated by the union in partnership with SA Golf Development Board. He stated that the programme is aimed at introducing the previously and currently disadvantaged children to the sport of golf. He added that through the programme they are able to identify most passionate young golfers. According to Sadie, the membership cards allow the two to be trained and utilise Polokwane Golf Club course at no cost.
“These two youngsters were identified three years ago to be part of the programme. They accelerated big time this year hence they were welcomed to the club as members. Junior was selected to represent the Limpopo Junior Golf Development Programme at the national competition planned for Johannesburg in December. He will be competing against other juniors who are part of the same programme in their respective provinces,” Sadie explained.
He reiterated that the union was proud of the two and called upon individuals and companies interested in golf development to join forces with the Limpopo Golf Union to groom and nurture young talent.
