Baroka Football Club is still to lose a Premier Soccer League (PSL) fixture following their 0-0 draw against the inform Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
The Ga-Mphahlele based gallery started the season on a high after defeating the 2016/17 PSL champions 1-0 in Milpark Stadium in their opening match.
They also managed to secure a point against PSL title contender favourites Cape Town City Football Club during their 2-2 draw match played at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium recently.
The club is currently in the seventh position of the league with five points after three matches and they will be hoping to accumulate more points when they face their nemesis, Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on 15 September.
Leopards are still to win a match and they will rely on their key players such as Thabo Matlaba, Thuso Phala and Andriamirado Andrianarimanana to deliver.
Club captain Mduduzi Mdantsane said it is important to win all their PSL matches and Leopards is not an exception. “This season we have a plan and want to do well. Last season we were fighting relegation. We need to win as many matches as we can because it is going to be tough in the second round. Generally, we are happy with the positive start of the season,” remarked Mdantsane.
He added that they were aware of the threat posed by Black Leopards and they would do anything to win the duel. “They are a good team and always do well in their own backyard but we need points and to get them we must win the encounter,” Mdantsane said.
