Baroka Football Club on Monday acquired the services of Liberian international striker, Terrence Tisdell from Portuguese third-level league side A.D. Sanjoanense Football Club.
Tisdell comes to the Ga-Mphahlele based outfit with a wealth of experience in African football having played for Fassel Football Club, LISCR Football Club (both Liberia) and CD Costa do Sol Football Club from Mozambique.
He was part of the Costa do Sol squad that beat the Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Cape Town City Football Club 2-1 in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confederations Cup second leg at the Athlone Stadium in 2018.
He is expected to lead Baroka’s attack when the PSL season re-opens on 3 August.
Club spokesperson, Mogau Maredi said Tisdell adds to a list of quality players they signed during the off-season break. “We have signed the likes of Gerald Phiri, Kamohelo Mohasha, Sibonelo Ngobane, Manuel Kambala, Richard Mbulu and Phelelani Shozi. They are good players and we are happy to have him in that list. He is a good player with lot of speed and he has an eye for a goal,” Maredi said.
He said the club will travel to Durban tomorrow (Friday) for a pre-season camp which includes friendly matches against soccer clubs in the area. “We will be based there for couple of weeks. We have chosen Durban because it has good sport facilities and the environment is good for pre-season preparation,” Maredi concluded.
