Road races in Polokwane clusters build up to final event

Four of the build-up races of Polokwane Municipality’s Mayoral Road Race that is scheduled for 1 May already took place, leaving only two events before the final race that is expected to be well supported.
The first races were hosted in the Mankweng, Moletjie, Seshego and Molepo/Maja/Chuene clusters and the last two events will take place in the Aganang cluster on Saturday and the Sebayeng/Dikgale cluster on 30 March. The venues for the coming events are the Aganang municipal offices and Bana Bathari Special School, respectively.
All the coming races will start at 07:00 and distances of 5 and 10 km will be run. Entry is free and registrations are done between 06:00 and 07:00 on the days of the races. According to Communications and Marketing Manager of the municipality, the aim of the races is to build community spirit and to promote participation in sport, a healthy lifestyle and smart living.
The final marathon on 1 May will be hosted in the City cluster and will cover distances of 5, 10, 21,1 and 42,2 km and will start at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium at 06:00, with prior registration at the venue from 05:00. Further details will be published later.
