Very little time remains for swimmers who still wish to participate in this year’s Ebenezer Mile as online entries are about to close by midnight today (Thursday).
This is the most exciting event on the Rotary Club of Haenertsburg’s annual calendar when hundreds of swimmers are expected to flock to Lepelle Northern Water’s social club, Old Smokey’s to be part of the fun-filled event on Saturday.
Rotary Club of Haenertsburg promises to host yet another unforgettable event and late entries will be accepted up to 30 minutes before the start.
This year’s race will once again offer a mile
(1 600 m) and 3 000 m swim for junior and senior male and female swimmers as well as a fun swim (500 m). The first race is set to start at 11:00.
It is important to note that wet suits and swimming aids are not permitted nor is assistance of any kind. The minimum age for the 3 000 m is 11 years and the swim may be cancelled or postponed on the day if the safety officer deems conditions to be unsafe.
Competitors swim at their own risk and any competitor who fails to obey the rules will be disqualified as the event is regulated by Swimming South Africa.
