Former Bafana Bafana defender joins Baroka

Baroka Football Club finalised signing former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe on Monday.
Spokesperson for the club, Richard Mashabane said Nthete’s experience in international and local football will come handy at the club. “He signed a six-month deal with a one year option. He is a quality defender with lots of experience and we need someone of his stature in the team,” he said.
Mashabane added that Nthete will be available for selection when the Bakgaga takes on Chippa United at new Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
The Ga-Mphahlele outfit will be seeking revenge after losing 0-1 against Chippa at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in August last year. “We are still hurting over that defeat. It is going to be a difficult match because they won their last two matches and would want to continue the great form, but we won’t let them walk over us,” Mashabane said.
