Polokwane City Football Club will be hoping to cement their seventh position of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) when they play against the presently inform Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club at Dr Molemela Stadium in Mangaung on Sunday.
Both teams started the season well and they would not want to falter in the critical stage of the season. City accumulated 18 points in their last 11 matches while Celtic attained 20 points from 10 matches. City occupies on the seventh position while Celtic is cruising on the third position of the league.
Celtics’ good form despite, City’s chief operations officer, Tincy Tema has promised their supporters that they will win the battle. “We beat them in their backyard last season and I don’t think they will give us problems this time around. We are aware of their form but we can’t afford to lose the match. This is the second last match for us before the end of the calendar year and we want to go into the new year in a better position. It is not going to be easy in the second round of the league because teams will be fighting different battles. We need to accumulate more points before the end of this year,” Tema said.
Tema informed Polokwane Observer that all their players who represented their various national teams during the Fifa international break have reported to the camp last Friday. “All of them trained with the team on Sunday and Monday. We are satisfied that they came back unscathed and are ready and eager to play.”
Some of the players that expected to play a key role in their battle against Celtic include their industrious captain Jabulani Maluleke, Rodney Ramagalela, Edgar Manaka and the lethal Puleng Tlolane.
