Baroka Football Club is slowly making their way out the relagation zone following their 2-1 feat against the embattled Golden Arrows in the 11th match of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Saturday. The victory saw Baroka moving from 15th position of the league to 12th and increasing their point tally to 10.
Baroka’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Richard Mashabane says their feat will lift the spirits in the team. “Look, we did not start the season well. We were playing well in all the matches but we could not get the desired results. We really needed the victory to boost the morale in the team. It was our second victory of the season and I think it will set a good tone for players and the coaches.”
He also added that they were happy with return of their coach, Wedson Nyirenda for their match against Arrows. Nyirenda was out of the team for two weeks to attend a funeral of his late Mother. “We are happy to have him back in the team. He was in the technical area during the Arrows match and everyone welcomed him,” Mashabane said.
