A golf challenge played in a betterball stableford format at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday attracted 132 entries and was won by Willie Opperman and Kobus Geeringh who finished with 48 points on a count in.
The runners-up were Johan and Adrian Dreye, also with 48 points but on a count out. Johan Moolman and Jaco Pietersen put up a good fight for the third place with 47 points on a count in while Dirk Visagie and his partner, Hein Warmenhoven settled for fourth position with 47 points on a count out.
Luck was seemingly on Moolman’s side as he managed to win the jackpot lucky draw claiming 1 250 units. The draw, made by Dudley Venner at holes one, two, 16 and 17, was standing at 1 570 units.
Jonathan Schulenburg and Phil Mashakane were rewarded for playing nearest to pin 11 and four respectively while Liano Viviers and Andrew Galloway received prizes for playing the longest drives at number 12 and two in that order. Golfers and the public will be treated to a Black Friday T-bone special tomorrow (Friday).
