Thirteen gymnasts of Zanis Gymnastics Academy attained 24 medals at the recent National Gym Games held in Gauteng.
To top this achievement three gymnasts Deandro du Preez, Wihann van Eeden and Amber-Leigh Mills qualified for the national federation team to compete against four other African countries in Centurion from 2 to 4 November.
During the Gym Games coach Tanya Bouwman was selected as coach for the national mini-tramp boys’ team.
Gymnasts who performed well are Sebastiaan Austin announced as top performer of the Zanis team.
“After a broken elbow last year, Christiaan returned with a bang and showed the other competitors how level 4 routines must be performed. He did not only won four gold and one silver medal but also received the trophy the highest average of all level 4 gymnasts,” head coach Zani Prinsloo said.
Team Zanis achieved a total of ten gold, eight silver and six bronze medals.
