Baroka Football Club needs more than good luck to win matches of the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
This according to its chief executive officer, Morgan Mammilla in response to their 0-0 draw against Super Sport United Football Club at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
Baroka, now in their third season of the elite league, is struggling to win crucial matches and has collected a meagre seven points from 10 matches since August.
Their dismal show in the league puts them in 15th position and with 20 matches still to be played and the level of competition in the league it remains to be seen if the Ga-Maphahlele based gallery will move out of the doldrums.
Despite the undesired results, Mammilla says there is no need to restructure either the technical team or the whole team. “Look, we need luck, we are unlucky. There is nothing wrong with the team and technical team. We are playing well but results are not coming through. We have outclassed so many teams, so there is no need to press the panic buttons. We are creating chances but we are unable to convert them,” Mammilla said.
He said their match against the highflying Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club set for Dr Molemela Stadium on 28 October in Bloemfontein will be a big test for the team. “It is going to be a difficult game. They are onform and they are sitting comfortably in the log and they don’t want to lose their spot. However, we are going to give our all in the match. We need to start winning such games in order to move up in the league” added Mammilla.
