Local boxer, Rofhiwa Maemu, no stranger to the Africa Boxing ring, is expected to defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African Featherweight title in front of his home supporters against fellow South African, Tello Lithebe.
Current WBA Pan African Super Middleweight champion, Patrick Mukala of the DRC is set to defend his title against Ghanaian, Emmanuel Anim who will be making his Fox Africa Boxing debut.
Kyle de Klerk, director commercial and business at Fox Sports Africa, organisers of the event, reportedly said: “We are back with the ninth edition of Africa Boxing and ready to bring the best boxers to the ring at Meropa Casino.
“We are particularly excited to see Rofhiwa Maemu fight in his home province, with his local supporters sure to encourage ‘War Child’ to give his all and defend his title,” he said and added that more tournaments are being planned.
