Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs Football Striker, Edward Manqele joined the Venda based National First Division (NFD) outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) last Thursday.
He made a name in football circles during the 2011/12 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season by scoring 11 goals in 28 games for Free State Stars Football Club. His 2015 stint with Kaizer Chiefs Football Club was less successful as he scored once in 25 appearances.
Manqele reportedly said he was looking forward to help TTM to archive its goals in the NFD. “I am here to focus on my football and help the team to achieve some of its objectives.”
The club has also signed former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United striker, David Zulu as well as Gabonese goalkeeper, Anthony Mezui.
Tshakhuma’s head coach, Sello Chokoe said the trio’s experience will help the team in their quest for PSL status.
“We are looking forward to work with them. They have played for top teams in their respective countries and they come to us with lots of experience. They will add value in the team and guide our youngsters,” Chokoe said.
