Government officials, businesspersons and members of the public from as far as Gauteng joined Limpopo First Lady Margaret Mathabatha and her entire First Lady Trust team during the annual fund-raising charity golf day at Kameeldooring Country Club in Mokopane on Friday.
The challenge is said to have been a success and Mathabatha reportedly said more than the envisaged R1 million was raised on the day. The funds will be used to assist destitute families identified in an endeavour to provide respectful shelter wherever they reside in the province, she stated. The first lady has in the past five years been able to build more than five houses across the province, it was learnt.
It was further reported that more than 60 professional and junior golfers had participated in this event including dignitaries such as Premier Stan Mathabatha, Andrew Mlangeni, Enoch Mashoala, Joe Mathebula, Alvinah Papo and Solly Shoke.
