In their quest to stay afloat at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) next season, Polokwane City Football Club released five players from their last season squad and replaced them with seven new players last Wednesday.
The club announced the Slovakian Jozef Vukusic, previously from Cape Town Football Club as head coach for their 2018/19 PSL campaign. He takes over from Bernard Molekwa who was in charge of the team last season in an interim role.
Long serving players Thabiso Semenya‚ Thapelo Tshilo‚ Nazier Jacobs‚ Lorence Vilakazi and Randy Ngobe were released and replaced by Mohamed Anas‚ Lehlohonolo Ledwaba ‚ Themba Chauke, Tebogo Kalaka‚ Bongani Manavhela ‚ Msekeli Mvalo and Khayalethu Mjoli who signed with the club last week.
Spokesperson for the club, Vusi Ntimane said the new coach and players will add value to the club.
“They are good players and I think they will help the club to compete for cup titles in the upcoming season. As for the new coach, we are convinced that he will do well. He has experience and has coached some of the top teams on the African continent. We are confident that he will help the club to achieve its goals,” Ntimane said.
