Members of Limpopo Practical Shooting Club assembled at the shooting range in the city last Saturday to prepare for the Africa Area Practical Shooting Championships that will be hosted in Polo­kwane from 11 to 14 July.
Spokesperson for the club, Thinus Botha said that the contestants are well prepared for the championships as they began their training months ago. “We also put a lot of effort into the construction of the ranges and are ready to host a world class event,” Botha said.
Tertius Smit was the best shot of the day and also the winner in the production class. Thinus Botha won the Classic Class competition, while Philip Smit won the open class and Dawie Oosthuizen the standard class competitions respectively.
Marieta Botha took the honours in the ladies open competition and Peet van der Westhuizen won the production optics competition.
