Zanis gymnasts steal limelight at Lim championships

Zanis Gymnastics Academy entered 62 rhythmic gymnasts for the Limpopo Gymnastics Championships held at Mat Sport Centre in Centurion Pretoria last Friday where they attained no fewer than 84 medals of which 32 are gold, 30 silver and 22 bronze.
Three gymnasts were named the best in their categories.
They are Zwivhuya Malotsha (Level 1), Janine Taljaard (Level 2) and Matsepo Sekwaila (Level 3).
Winners in the different age groups were:
Level 1: Nkgoroana Maleka (u.8), Zwivhuya Malotsha (u.9, highest level 1 total), Carla Antonio (u.10), Relebogile Maleka (u.11), Tadiwa Gopo (over 11)
Level 2: Tara Thomson (u.8), Chichi Matoba (u.10), Janine Taljaard (over 11 and highest level 2 total), Level 3: Mmatapa Mammabolo (u.9), Bea Venter (u.10) and Matsepo Sekwaila (highest lev 3 total).
Fifty-two of the girls were selected to the provincial team that will compete at the North Zone Rhythmic Championships in Johannesburg from 22 to 23 June.
The gymnasts will be accompanied by their coaches, Lesley Bonne and Cathy Matoba. Tanya Bouwman, Bernadine Taljaard, Amanda van Tonder and Elzari du Toit are included in the panel of judges.
