All systems ready for Cosafa cup

Polokwane Municipality has begun its preparations for hosting the 2018 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) tournament from 27 May to 10 June.
Fourteen countries resorting under the council: Angola, Botswana, the Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, the Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe, will participate in the tournament. A total of 24 matches will be played at the old and new Peter Mokaba stadiums respectively.
Polokwane Municipal Spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo on Tuesday confirmed that preparations have commenced and that the organisers will ensure that all facilities are kept in pristine condition as per required standard. “The facilities will be kept and maintained to standard to maintain the brand identity and reputation of the city. We will ensure that all our facilities, the Seshego Stadium, Noordelikes sport field and Cricket Club fields to be used for practising, are usage free for the duration of the tournament,” Mothapo said.
South African Football Association (Safa) National Executive Committee member, Ria Ledwaba said participating teams are expected to start arriving in the city from Sunday, 20 May. “The hotels are fully booked, the stadiums are ready and we believe that the people of this province will be good hosts, she said and added that Safa was looking forward to hosting a successful tournament.
