The moment has arrived for open water swimming enthusiasts as the annual Ebenezer Mile is set to take place at the Ebenezer Dam on Saturday.
Time is running out though as those who wish to enter online only have until midnight tonight (Thursday) to do so at a cost of R145. Late entries will still be allowed on the day of the event but will then cost R170.
The hosts and organisers promise that it will be yet another unforgettable occasion which has also lured Californian endurance swimmer Karen Sternberg who has already confirmed her participation this year.
Swimmers should note that the start and finish point for this year’s event has been moved to Old Smokey, the Lepelle Recreation Club located approximately 500 m past the former starting point, the Mountain Yacht Club. Signposts will be placed next to the road.
This year’s race will once again offer a 1 600 m (mile) and 3 000 m swim for junior and senior male and female swimmers.
To enter online visit www.rotaryhaenertsburg.co.za for the link to the registration form.
