Henri Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate do Institute hosted its annual prize giving ceremony where several karatekas were awarded for participation, dedication and individual excellence on Saturday.
Grandmaster and Chief Instructor Henri Eksteen indicated it was the 17th annual prize giving and that karatekas performed well during the year.
Some of the individual awards were received by Lebogang Mathapo, most dedicated karateka; Bricks Motshike, best competitive karateka; Stephen Andrew, best overall performance; Attlee Molepo, Best Pee Wee of the Year and Kassim Hassim, most improved.
Karatekas who had 100% class as well as Gaskuku attendance for the year are Cian Brink, Cade Brink, Lesego Rammutla, Drikus Liebenberg, Ehtan Bell, Edward Makobela and Stephen Andrew.
Edward Makobela and Nonhlanhla Banda were announced Best Junior and Senior Karateka of the Year respectively.
