Following their hard fought 2-2 draw against Orlando Pirates at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening, Polokwane City Football Club has undertaken to get maximum points in their upcoming matches.
City is currently languishing in the 14th position of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) with five points after seven matches.
They will be hoping for a better display when they play Amazulu Football Club at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on 18 October.
Spokesperson for the Club, Vusi Ntimane said they have never played Amuzulu before but are confident of a victory against them. “We are aware that our position in the league is not good at all. We want to get out of that position. We have 23 matches ahead of us and the aim is to get maximum points out of each one, starting with Amazulu,” Ntimane said.
He further remarked that they could have won their match against Pirates but they were let down by a lack of concentration in the last remaining minutes of the match. “That is our downfall. We played well throughout the match and we managed to score two beautiful goals but could not defend our lead. We have lost so many matches in the dying minutes of the game and we can’t afford to slip up like that,” remarked Ntimane.
