A golf challenge hosted by Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday attracted 73 entries. The contest was played in four-ball alliance format and saw Belinda Schutte and Andries du Plessis taking the lead and finishing on 55 points. Second place went to Mpho Makhado and Phil Mashakane on 52 points. Du Plessis conducted the jackpot lucky draw at holes five, six, 11 and 14 but there were no winners. The jackpot was standing at 4 360 units with 3 490 units payable.
Last Wednesday, 72 golfers competed in a four-ball alliance won by Riaan Nel, Nic Notley, Hein Viljoen and Jan de Beer on 93 points. Only two points behind were Morne Myburg, Raymond Pratt, Dirk Visagie and Craig Hawken while Willie Marx, Aart Jurrianse, Albert Botha and Piet Bronkhorst settled for third position.
Visagie and Viljoen claimed prizes for playing nearest to pin four and pin for two at hole nine respectively. Arnold Venter Jnr played nearest to pin 11 while Rodney Mokoena won a prize for playing the longest drive at hole two.
