Runners from across Limpopo are expected to enter the SA Run for Cancer Ultra Marathon in aid of Polokwane Provincial Hospital’s Paediatric Oncology (TLC) Ward.
According to Roelf Coetzee, Race Organiser, the event, planned for 28 October, is a joint venture between Polokwane Athletics Club (PAC) and Run/Walk for Life Polokwane.
The race will serve as a Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Qualifier and will feature 5 and 10 km fun runs as well as 21 km, 32 km and 48 km races for all categories.
The fun runs will start from the Polokwane Cricket Club. The race route is not circular and the 21 km race will start on the R101 near the entrance to Eduard Farm, the 32 km race near Tiveka Lodge and the 42 km race near the Sebetiela Toll Plaza, Coetzee explained.
Entry fees for the 5 km run will be R60, R170 for the 10 km, R165 for the 21 km, R205 for the 32 km and R265 for the 48 km race. Licence fees for the all races except the 5 km is R30.
