Despite their narrow 1-0 victory over Mbombela United at Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday, Black Leopards Football Club is confident of their success in the present National First Division (NFD) campaign.
Club Director Rendani Thidiela said that their aim this season is to win the remaining 29 matches and acquire automatic promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
For the past three seasons Lidoda Duvha always found themselves fighting for the PSL status in the playoffs. “We are tired of the playoffs and we want automatic promotion. We are happy with the first three points of the season. We had to start well and build a good momentum for the season ahead. We are targeting 63 points which will ensure that we win the division but our wish is to win all the matches. We have good players and a good technical team that can help us to achieve that goal,” Thidiela said.
With regards to their match against Ubuntu Cape Town Football Club scheduled for Sunday at the Thohoyandou Stadium he said: “It will be our first home match of the season. We will be welcoming some of our key players, Siphelele Ntshangase who was with Bafana Bafana and defender Thivhavhudzi Ndou who has recovered from an injury. We invite all our supporters and soccer fans in general to come and watch the game.”
