The u.13, u.15, u.16 and u.17 boys’ cricket teams affiliated to Limpopo Impala Cricket played friendly winter matches against teams from Benoni-based Eastern Cricket at Polokwane Cricket Club on Sunday and Monday.
The purpose was to give the teams more exposure to match playing and prepare them for the upcoming season.
Each team played three matches but the visitors had all the aces up their sleeve with the provincial u.17s being the only team to win one of their matches.
Lucky Mhlongo, Coach and Education Manager at Limpopo Impala Cricket congratulated the visitors on their performance. “They played well and were good and competitive. These are the kind of matches we need to play in order to prepare the teams for major tournaments.
“The results did not go our way but we did managed to compete and have taken a lot from the matches moving forward into the league which resumes after the school holidays,” Mhlongo said.
