PSL action excites fans

Last night saw four games in the PSL as the league is back in action following a long break.

POLOKWANE – Bidvest Wits started the second leg of the Absa Premiership on a high note last night (Tuesday) as they walloped Ajax Cape Town 5-0 at Bidvest Stadium.

The Clever Boys used the home ground to their advantage and showed some commitment from the first whistle.

Both teams had their share to control the ball with Bidvest Wits opening to scoring line in 20th minute through Phakani Mahlabi.

The goal did not seem to shake the Urban Warriors as they kept moving forward with the aim to find an equaliser. However, their mission seemed impossible after the clever boys added another goal on their list in 32nd minute through Thulani Hlatswayo to make the half time score 2-0.

The two rivals came back in full force with Ajax chasing after Wits while the clever boys aimed to net more goals.

Gabadinho Mhanga pinned a huge metal nail on Stanley Menzo’s side in 59 minute of the game as he added another goal to Wits’ list.

The Urban Warriors seemed lost and this gave James Keene a chance to find the back of the net just two minutes after Mhanga. The Malawian international striker, Mhanga sealed the deal in the 76 minutes to make the final score 5-0.

Cape Town City also proved that they want to win the Absa Premiership title as they defeated Highlands Park 3-0 at Cape Town Stadium with Free State Stars losing three points in the Hands of Kaizer Chiefs after a 3-1 defeat at FNB Stadium.

The Limpopo outfit, Baroka FC have to pull up their socks if they want to escape relegation. Bakgaga ba Mphahlele have already lost three points in the hands of Chippa United after losing the game 2-1 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
