Leandre du Preez, a 14-year-old gymnast from Zanis Gymnastics Academy, received her South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) colours for the second year in a row when she represented her country at the Region 5 Trampoline Championships held in Harare, Zimbabwe from 5 to 11 December 2016.
This is the second year in a row that she achieved podium positions at the championships. Leandre won team gold and ended third overall in the mini-tramp.
Tanya Bouwman, Leandre’s coach said she has been a gymnast since the age of 3 and has always been an outstanding gymnast. “Her hard work and dedication is the thing we admire most about her, we are so very proud of her and all her achievements,” Bouwman said.
