Local football academy aims for NFD

If young local soccer coach William Bayano Moloto has his way his team, Molemole Football Academy, will campaign in the National First Division (NFD) in the 2017/18 season.
Moloto achieved what many young coaches can only dream off when he promoted the academy from the South African Football Association (Safa) South African Breweries Regional League to the ABC Motsepe League in May.
Hailing from Seshego, the former Ria Stars Football Club defender who played alongside Tlou Molekwane (Bloemfontein Celtic) and Phaladi Kobola (Cape Town City Football Club), believes he has the players that can help the team to earn NFD status.
“That is our goal. We want to emulate the success of local teams such as Baroka Football Club and Magezi Football club who campaigned in the league before. Their story is amazing and it should inspire and motivate our players. We want to approach the ABC Motsepe League with the right attitude and lot of positivity. The message has already been sent to players and I believe they will deliver,” Moloto said.
He also mentioned they have started with their provincial talent scout programme in different areas of the province aimed at giving aspiring soccer players platform to showcase their talent and also be part of the team. “It is the dream of every emerging soccer player to play at a professional level and we thought we should give everyone a chance. I mean there are lots of talented players in the province and it is our duty as coaches to go out there and unearth it. Thus far we have indentified five prospective players with whom we are happy. I think they stand a good chance of playing in the team,” stated Moloto.
The 2016/17 ABC Motsepe League season is set to commence in mid-August, at the same time as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and NFD.
