Hundreds of athletes participated in the annual Aïda Road Race hosted in conjunction with Run/Walk for Life on Saturday. Among the athletes who braved the cold winter morning were a number of Comrades Marathon entrants who used the opportunity for final preparation of the big race on Sunday.
The Aïda Road Race offers a 5 km fun run, 10 km or 15 km with Pietersburg-Noord Primary at start and finishing point.
Learners from Northern Academy Secondary School ruled the girls and boys categories in the 5 km fun run with Elizabeth Berhanu and Keletso Moeti claiming victory in the respective categories.
