The Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions, Mamelodi Sundowns FC have added another feather in their cap

POLOKWANE – The Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions, Mamelodi Sundowns FC have added another feather in their cap after it was confirmed that they are the Absa Premiership Q-Innovation quarter four (Q4) winners.

This is the third quarter in the 2015/16 season that the Brazillians have won – out of the four quarters. Each quarter carries a prize money worth R1.5 million.

This means Kabo Yellow have won R4.5 million from the Q-Innovation. They will also be awarded with R10 million for winning the Absa Premiership title on 21 May – making it a total R14.5 million.

Mamelodi Sundowns finished with 16 points from six matches – with one game to spare. Quarter Four has seven fixtures. Lamontville Golden Arrows is second with 11 points from six matches. Third is Bloemfontein Celtic with 10 points from the same number of games.

The Q-Innovation system was introduced in 2012/13 Premier Soccer League season. The league schedule is split into four fixture-blocks referred to as quarters, the first and third blocks have eight fixtures, the second and fourth blocks have seven fixtures. The Q-innovation prize money is given to the teams who finish top of the table after each block of fixtures.
