Polokwane City Football Club aims to claim the scalps Mamelodi Sundowns when they take on the log leaders in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on 13 April in their 24th match of 2015/16 PSL season.
Sundowns currently sits at the top of the league with 52 points after 23 matches while Polokwane City Football Club are in 13th position with 23 points.
In their first match of the season both teams played to a goalless draw at Lucus Moripe Stadium in October last year.
City Spokesperson, Tumelo Makgoara is confident that they will emerge victorious despite Sundown’s form in the league. “They are enjoying an amazing run in the league and that makes them a threat. We have a good record against them. Our previous matches against them ended in draws. We will approach the match like any other and come back with three points,’’ Makgoara said.
He said all the players reported to camp on Monday following a Fifa international break. The exception is Nazeer Jacobs who is still nursing injuries he sustained during a car crash last month.
“Jacobs is recovering well at his home and we are hoping that he will commence his training soon.
“We are glad to have all the players back unscathed and are looking forward to the remaining matches of the PSL,” Makgoara concluded.
