Knoezen, Marnewick take win at MGM golf day

While most of the sports clubs were quiet over the long weekend, some eager golfers battled it out in the MGM Motors Golf Day at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
Some 67 players competed for the number one position in the individual Stableford but it was Wimpie Knoezen and Kobus Marnewick who top scored with 77 points. They were four points ahead of Raymond Pratt and Riaan Piek on 73 points leaving the third position to Riaan Nel and Dawid van der Walt on 72 points.
Talented young golfer Devaux van der Wath claimed nearest to the pin on the fourth hole with Naas Vorster, Charles Hardy and Pieter Meiring landing their balls closest to the flag on the eighth, 11th and 16th hole respectively.
