Department of Sport, Arts and Culture has selected a strong provincial netball team to represent the province at the upcoming Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League (NPL).
The Limpopo Baobabs will take on other teams at the tournament that starts on 9 April at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria.
The NPL is the brain child of Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula to raise the profile of netball.
During a send-off ceremony in Polo-kwane last Thursday, acting Head of Sport, Arts and Culture, Fhu-mu Maguga said the team should play every game as if is their last. The team finished in fifth position of the league last year and Coach Cecilia Molekwane is adamant that they will finish in a better position this year.
“We have a good squad that is ready to compete and I think we can achieve that goal,” Molekwane said.
